The Eden Cafe Artist Exhibition Show

Modesti’s Photo Folk Art Experience Exhibition Show

I’m happy to share this awesome news to all of my friends, family, and followers that have been paying attention to what I’ve been doing with my artistic achievements lately.

On Friday, July 15, 2016, I’m going to be participating in an exhibition show at the Eden Café, located in Loudonville, NY, with my friend and local artist, Diane Green. It’ll be the first exhibition that I’ve exhibited in since April 2014 when my Senior Art Project classmates and I participated in Elemental Connections: MCLA Senior Art Show at MCLA Gallery 51. It’ll also be the first time in the past two years that my friend, Diane has displayed her work in an exhibition as well. We’re both looking forward to this exhibition and we hope that you can make it to our opening. The opening is going to be held from 7:30p.m.- 9:30/10:00 p.m. and it’s free to the entire public. At the time of the artist opening, you’ll be able to purchase artist prints and digital photography from Diane and I at 15% off with the use of the coupon provided on the day of the show at The Eden Café.

For the exhibition, I’ll be displaying my horoscope-photo based paintings that I made during my time spent at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, located in North Adams, MA. For those of you that aren’t familiar with my series, I was inspired by Rob Brezsny’s weekly Taurus horoscope passages that I used to read in the Metroland  Magazine. I would read the passages and see how they reflected on something that had happened to me in the past, present, or what could happen to me in the future. Once I read the passage, I would look through my digital photographs to see how they related to the passage. I use these as inspiration to document my life and express my feelings through painting.

Besides painting, digital photography has been my current medium that I use to document experiences and moments in not only my life, but also in other people’s lives as well. Photography has been a huge part of my life since I first took a photography class during my final year at Tamarac High School. Since I took that class and other traditional and digital photography courses at HVCC and MCLA, I became addicted to photography and the way how I can use it as a means for self expression, documentation, and even promotion for other special events/local organizations/local bands. Photography fields that I currently specialize in includes event photography, concert performance photography, photojournalism, portraiture, nature and wildlife photography, travel photography, flower photography, and other photography fields. You can view my photography and my paintings on my artist website and other social media pages.

My friend, Diane Green, has been involved in drawing and painting for many, many years. At 81 years old, Green has used art as a means of self expression through her various mediums of acrylic, oil, and charcoal. Green’s subject matter that she has focused on throughout her life includes landscapes, still life, and portraiture.  “For many years, I had to put my paint brush down but the truth is all of my life I was painting my dream.”, according to Green. Viewing Green’s work first hand, I can tell you that she has obtained that goal of portraying her life’s dream and the way how she views her life as shown through her meticulous, detailed works of art that are both realistic and abstract. Green is in fact, Albany’s Van Gogh.

To RVSP to our event, please check out the link that I’ve provided in this news update. We hope that you can make it to our event. It would mean a lot to us if you could celebrate this amazing opportunity with us as we display our art together for the first time. Since I don’t get out of work from my day job until 6:00 p.m., I can arrive at the exhibition early for viewers to check out the work, if you’re also not able to make it to the opening. Stay tuned to the Facebook invitation and my artist website for more details.

In addition to this exhibition, I’m also going to be in an exhibition show at the Alacrity Frame Workshop, located in Albany, NY. The show will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 as part of the First Friday events that are held to celebrate the local arts, music, and business within the City of Albany, NY. This will be the first time that I’ll be exhibiting at this location. I’m looking forward to this show next year!

Thank you for checking out this post. We hope to see you at our event in July!!
